Riverbank and coastal protection in Bulgaria

The NET - PIE - EQE Consortium formed by NET Engineering International S.p.A.(leading partner), Patinvest Engineering SA and EQE Control OOD, has been commissioned a consultancy project for riverbank protection in Silistra and coastal protection in Pomorie (Bulgaria).

The contract, worth over € 660.000, was signed by the Deputy Minister for Regional Development Dobromir Simidchiev and features the following activities:

• Develop a conformity assessment of the investment projects of the final designs for the two components;
• Develop a tender documentation for the project's construction, which enables the participation of international candidates in an open public procurement procedure;
• Supervision of construction works in the two sites.

A Loan between Bulgaria and the "Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau" (KfW) Bank, Frankfurt has made this agreement possible. The Contract was signed on August 12th, 2010 within the context of the German financial cooperation with the Republic of Bulgaria, worth some € 34.000 million.

The 'Technical Infrastructure 2010-2013'project,is managed by the 'European infrastructure projects and public works' Directorate belonging to the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works.
